Our Transformative Events
On our journey towards social transformation, we had the pleasure of counting on remarkable moments that strengthened our commitment to the community.
No dia 31 de maio de 2025, a Favela do Chapadão recebeu a 2ª edição da Copa Favela Seeds de Jiu-Jitsu – evento promovido pela ONG Favela Seeds. O evento reuniu crianças e jovens da comunidade, que competiram em diversas categorias, promovendo o esporte como uma ferramenta de desenvolvimento, inclusão social e incentivo à saúde.
A competição destacou a importância da prática esportiva como meio de fortalecer a autoestima, disciplina e os sonhos de jovens que, muitas vezes, enfrentam a falta de oportunidades. Além das lutas, a manhã foi marcada por momentos de integração e diversão entre os participantes.
Como parte da ação social, a entrada para o evento foi a doação de 1 kg de alimento não perecível, resultando em uma arrecadação destinada a famílias da própria comunidade, reforçando o compromisso do projeto com o bem-estar coletivo.
No dia 13 de fevereiro de 2025, tivemos o privilégio de receber o lutador e campeão mundial de jiu-jitsu Mahamed Aly no CT Sidney Silva. Durante o evento, ele conduziu uma palestra e workshop para as crianças e jovens do projeto Favela Seeds, promovendo uma rica troca de experiências. Mahamed compartilhou sua trajetória no esporte, trazendo esperança e inspiração para os atendidos pela ONG, incentivando-os a construir um futuro melhor.
On Sunday, (12/01), Favela Seeds in partnership with CT Sidney Silva got together to celebrate a special moment: the Jiu-Jitsu Belt Graduation Ceremony. The long-awaited belt changing ceremony marked the end of a cycle full of learning, overcoming and, of course, a lot of martial arts.

On September 29, 2024, the 1st Favela Seeds Jiu-Jitsu Cup took place in the Chapadão favela. Young people and children competed in their categories, encouraging sport and good practices, in addition to promoting the pursuit of health and dreams for children and young people who often do not have access to incentives and means of development. It was a morning full of competition and fun, reinforcing the importance of sports in our communities.
On September 21, 2024, we had the privilege of welcoming fighter and world jiu-jitsu champion Mahamed Aly to CT Sidney Silva. During the event, he led a lecture and workshop for children and young people from the Favela Seeds project, promoting a rich exchange of experiences. Mahamed shared his journey in sport, bringing hope and inspiration to those served by the NGO, encouraging them to build a better future.
On September 3, 2024, we had the joy of holding the first selection in partnership with Mix Models, in Chapadão. This event was a showcase for more than 100 young talents from Rio de Janeiro communities, allowing them to be seen by big brands and open doors to new opportunities.
On April 2, 2024, we held a talk at CT Sidney Silva, a project sponsored by Favela Seeds, where we discussed vital topics and inspired young people to seek new paths.
On September 17, 2023, we returned to Chapéu Mangueira with more food baskets and prevention lectures, reaffirming our commitment to supporting families in the region. And on November 3, 2023, we returned to bring not only food, but also hope and knowledge, offering new lectures to further strengthen the community.
On May 22, 2023, we welcomed rapper Central Cee to our traveling project. It was an incredible opportunity to share our mission, which involves the delivery of food baskets and educational lectures. On this occasion, we addressed important topics and work with families to strengthen bonds, seeking to raise awareness among young people and adults about important topics such as self-care. Central Cee met the community of Chapéu Mangueira/Morro da Babilônia and was enchanted by the jiu-jitsu project, which promotes health and discipline.
